Frisco Heritage Museum
Anyone who lives in the Frisco area must take a trip to the Frisco Heritage Museum. Explore and celebrate the rich history of this North Texas town through film, artifacts, artworks, and much more. Real locamotives are also on display in honor of the city’s history of railroads.
There’s even a complete replica of Frisco as it looked around the time of it’s founding. You can explore over four acres featuring old-fashioned homes and shops, as well as a school, church, jailhouse, and more. There are also numerous pices of art created by local artists on display, so stop by the Frisco Heritage Museum with the family and soak up some local history.
Dr. Pepper Ballpark
Sports are a Frisco tradition, and one of the most popular family destinations during summertime is the Dr. Pepper Ballpark. This awesome venue is the home field for our local minor league team, the Frisco Rough Riders. Nothing beats catching a game and enjoying some delicious food and drinks with family and friends at the ballpark.
One of the coolest features of this unique venue is the Choctaw Lazy River. Located near right field, you can actually hop in the water and watch the game in complete relaxation. National Video Game Museum
Let’s face it, not everyone is into sports or local history. For those who’d prefer to learn about the history of their favorite games, you must pay a visit to the National Video Game Museum in Frisco. This world-famous location celebrates and preserves the rich history of video gaming going back to the very fisrt iterations back in the 1950s.
Not only does the museum display and teach about video game history, but their goal is also to preserve as much as possible for future generations to enjoy. They’re like the Smithsonian of video games, only with one big difference. While most museums have strict no-touch policies, guests have the opportunity to actually play many of the games featured throughout the gallery. Sci-Tech Discovery Center
Who says that learning can’t be fun? Clearly they’ve never paid a visit to the Sci-Tech Discovery Center in Frisco! This incredible complex features exhibits and interactive displays that teach kids and adults alike about science and cutting-edge technology. Learn all about things like weather, coordination, homeostatis, nanoscal science, and much, much more.
One of the most impressive features of this facility is the MakerSpace area. The center provides a number of computer work stations with movie-making, 3D printing, robotics, and laser cutting and engraving software for guests to make…whatever they want!
