Frigidaire Dishwasher Is Loud

What to Do if Your Frigidaire Dishwasher Is Loud

If your Frigidaire dishwasher is loud, it can ruin the atmosphere in your home, whether you’re having time with the family, trying to watch TV, or listening to music. Luckily, there are a few things that you can do to reduce the noise level and make your Frigidaire dishwasher quieter. We’ll show you how.

What to Do if Your Frigidaire Dishwasher Is Loud

If you’re noticing that your Frigidaire dishwasher is loud, there are a few things that could be causing it. Here are five of the most common reasons for a noisy Frigidaire dishwasher:

1. Issue with the water inlet valve

If the water inlet valve is not working properly, it can cause your dishwasher to be noisy. When the inlet valve is the problem, you’ll usually hear a squealing or buzzing sound about two minutes into the cycle.

If your dishwasher consistently is making noise when water circulates, then you may need to replace the water inlet valve. We recommend calling a professional to do this for you.

2. Dishwasher impeller issue

The dishwasher impeller is responsible for moving water through the spray arms. If it’s broken it can make a loud humming sound when water circulates. If this is the reason why your Frigidaire dishwasher is making a weird sound, you’ll need to replace the dishwasher impeller, which is usually a job for a professional.

3. Spray arm is blocked

If the dishwasher spray arm is blocked, it can result in your Frigidaire dishwasher making banging sounds. Make sure the spray arm can move freely, and if it’s blocked, clear the obstruction and run the dishwasher again to see if the issue is fixed. If it’s not blocked and it’s still not spinning, or if it’s not spraying water, you may need a replacement spray arm.

4. Dishwasher overloaded

If your dishwasher is overloaded, it can cause noise because the dishes can bang into each other and cause loud noises during the cycle.

To fix this, you’ll need to make sure that you’re not putting too many dishes in your dishwasher and giving your dishes space between.

5. Dishwasher pump issue

The dishwasher pump helps to circulate the water during the cycle. If there’s something wrong with it, it can cause a grinding sound from your Frigidaire dishwasher in the middle of the cycle. This will be an issue that you’ll likely need a technician’s help to fix.
