How do you know your dealing with a legitimate business?
The Better Business Bureau of St.Louis posted a WARNING on their site about fake appliance firms. This scheme has been going around the country, including a documented case in Arlington Texas. The scammers, create a website that appears to be valid, and posts a number for service calls. When the fake technician comes to the consumers home, they take the money for a service call, or a deposit on a part, and then disappear. The location of the appliance business is usually a restaurant or a store. When the consumer tries to contact the service company – the phone number is not answered. They have been using the names of the city, followed by appliance repair, and also using : The Appliance Repairman.
